The report offers a comprehensive overview of the observed and potential impacts of COVID-19 and lower oil prices on sustainable development in the Arab States region. Bringing together qualitative and quantitative analysis on a broad range of sectors, it demonstrates the interconnected scope and scale of the first wave of repercussions on societies across the region. It also proposes frameworks for integrated policy action to mitigate the fallout of the crisis on the most vulnerable while pursuing responses which are inclusive, effective and aimed at leaving no one behind and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
