The central message of this report is that the international community must come together in a common effort to transform the global energy system over the coming decades, and that pol- icy-makers and business leaders must place much greater emphasis on transforming the per- formance of national (and regional) energy systems over the coming decades. Low-, middle- and high-income countries all face major, albeit different, transformational challenges.
